European Voluntary Service

The European Voluntary Service (E.V.S) ,part of Key Action 1 – individual mobility – of the Erasmus+ programme, gives young people the opportunity to carry out voluntary activities in a not-for profit organization abroad, in order to live an experience of intercultural learning in an informal context.

The goals of the programme are:

  • Offering the young people a new experience of intercultural learning, encouraging their social integration and active participation
  • Contributing to the development of local communities
  • Encouraging the creation of partnerships, the exchange of experiences and good practices

The activities of the participants involved in the project must:

  •     be non-profit, not paid and not replacing a paid worker
  •     produce surplus value for the local community
  •     constitute an informal “learning service”, that allows the youngsters to improve and acquire competences that will benefit their personal, vocational and professional development

The participants are 18 – 30 years old young people

Mistral is a credited sending and coordinating organization and offers the following services free of charge to the participants:

 

  •     Support in the planning and management of the bureaucratic procedure
  •     Support in the research of hosting organizations
  •     Intercultural education before the departure of the volunteers
  •     Support and tutoring during the period of voluntary work abroad
  •     Monitoring of the project with the tutors of the hosting organization and with the volunteers
